We went here two days on a roe. It is always a pleasure to eat somewhere where they understand the basics of good dining. Food was subliem, tasteful and loads of fresh flavors. Some definitely worth to eat again. Making you curious of the other meals on the menu. Like the desert wrapped as a present.

Good food, professional service, very comfortable and traditional setting, and we had entertainment on top of all that! We went on a night where they featured Fado during dinner, and it was delightful. It was a packed house but the servers and the kitchen worked extra hard to keep everyone served and happy!
My roasted lobster was perfectly cooked on top of a stack of sweet potato slices with spinach. My friend ordered the steak with mushroom cream sauce and we were all reaching over to dip into his delicious sauce. The desserts were just as good!
This is a very enjoyable and well-run restaurant! I highly recommend it!

Excellent food and service in Cabanas de Tavira!
We stayed in Cabanas de Tavira for a week and ended up visiting this restaurant twice because it was so good. The service was fantastic, and both the flavors and portion sizes were spot on. The highlights for me were the stuffed crab (sapateira recheada), the steak, and the octopus—all were delicious! If you are planning to visit the area soon, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

A New Star Is Born ⭐️

We’ve been coming to Cabanas for over ten years, and Ideal was always one of our favourite culinary spots. When it suddenly closed last year and stayed empty for months, we had lost all hope of ever dining there again.

So imagine our surprise on returning to Cabanas — a brand-new restaurant had opened in the very same place! New owners, new team, and quite simply the best Portuguese food in town — by far. Everything served with genuine warmth and a smile.

We can’t wait to go back… even if that won’t be until our usual visit in October 2026.
