Benagil, a small fishing village in Portugal's Algarve region, is renowned for its stunning coastal scenery and the famous Benagil Cave. The village itself is quaint, with a relaxed atmosphere that contrasts with the excitement of exploring its nearby natural wonders. The main attraction is the Benagil Sea Cave, a short boat ride from the beach, known for its massive domed ceiling and natural skylight that lets sunlight pour into the cavern, creating a mesmerizing display. While the village is peaceful, its popularity as a tourist destination can make the area quite busy, especially during the summer months. Nonetheless, Benagil offers a unique and memorable experience for those looking to explore one of Portugal's most beautiful coastal landscapes.

A very beautiful place that is definitely worth a visit. There are different visiting options: you can take a boat tour from 20 € and admire this beauty from the ocean.

Benagil caves is a must when you are in Algarve. There are lots of options to visit them- kayak tours, boats, catamarans, speed boats, youchts. Some of the trips offer BBQ option on a secluded beach, or Champaign with oysters, etc. We chose a catamaran trip combined with BBQ- see glimpses from it.

Just like you see in pictures.
You have to park at the top of hill and make your way down to cove where you have option of renting kayaks or doing a boat tour. You could also swim there if you were a good swimmer on a calm day. (Be very careful)
The cove offers a small restaurant you can get some drinks and food and also use the washroom.
The beach itself is small but still very beautiful but can be overwhelmed on a busy day.
We opted for the boat ride which was worth it. Unfortunately it was too rough to pull up on shore in the cave but still were able to get inside and get some amazing pictures and also enjoyed the ride along the coast and see some more beaches we wanted to visit along our road trip.
From the parking lot you can also walk along the cliff side and looked down into the cave from above. Worth doing both.
