Beautiful castle with a stunning 360 degree view over the whole city!! I was amazed with the view and its worth going for this alone! However I was so freaking flabbergasted by the peacocks!! 🦚🦚 Such beautiful animals! I befriended one and I called him Pavo, I loved the whole experience. There are so many peacocks strutting around. Truly breathtaking! Would recommend.

This was one of the best photo spots we visited with the Lisboa Card. The view over Lisbon is absolutely breathtaking and well worth the climb up the stairs.
The panoramic city view was incredibly rewarding, and we were even lucky enough to enjoy it under perfect weather. It truly made our day in Lisbon unforgettable.

Breathtaking view of the whole city. I’m so stunned by the beauty of this place. Not very big but interesting to visit. The fantastic peacocks have an impeccable beauty with immense feathers which made it worth visiting on its own. Must go for all ages! WATCH OUT, the stairs are not normed, I sprained my ankle. #Stillworthit.

Castelo de S. Jorge is a very impressive historic castle overlooking Lisbon, and it quickly became one of my favourite spots in the city. I visited in January, so it wasn’t too crowded and the whole visit felt very calm and relaxed. It was a really chill walk through the grounds and along the walls.
The panoramic views over Lisbon from the top are absolutely breathtaking – honestly better than any other viewpoint I found in the city. The ruins are fascinating to explore, with lots of little corners, old walls and pathways that really give you a sense of the history of the place. As a bonus, there are peacocks wandering around the area, which adds a really charming and unexpected touch to the visit.

The king of all viewpoints in Lisbon.
If you want to understand the geography of Lisbon, you have to come here. The panoramic view from the castle walls is simply unmatched. From this height, the city spreads out below you like a map—you can see everything from the terracotta roofs of Alfama to the 25 de Abril Bridge and the Christ the King statue in the distance.
Getting here requires a bit of effort. The climb through the winding streets is steep and not easy, but it is incredibly picturesque and worth every step. Once inside, I was surprised to see peacocks roaming freely around the gardens, adding a royal touch to the atmosphere.
My tip: Don't just rush through. We stopped at the bar on the belvedere (Miradouro) for cocktails. Sipping a drink while watching the sunset over the city was the highlight of our trip. A perfect mix of history and leisure.
