Farol da Nazaré is an incredible spot with breathtaking views over the Atlantic. The cliffs and waves are truly impressive, especially between January and February when the ocean is at its most powerful and you can witness Nazaré’s famous giant waves. A must-visit for nature lovers and unforgettable photos!

I had come here especially to see the waves and wasn't disappointed. Lots of vantage points to see the huge waves and great views of Nazare and the surrounding countryside. A really beautiful place. There are lots of coffee shops and restaurants on the way down to the fort and a shuttle up the hill if you don't fancy walking it. Thoroughly enjoyed my visits 3 days in a row :)

Absolutely gorgeous view, but definitely worth paying the 2 euro to go inside! They have a whole history on Nazare, the surfers, the landscape, etc. it’s very informative and super cool. The view off the back into the ocean is also so amazing. It’s truly breathtaking. A great place for photos, too!

During a red coastal warning, Nazaré is the place to be for watching massive waves. On Saturday afternoon, Farol da Nazaré offers the best views. Traffic may be restricted near the entrance by staff or police, but the town is small and it’s easy to park for free within a 20-minute walk.

The Farol of Nazaré stands above the ocean with one of the most breathtaking views in Portugal. It’s reached by walking down and the view is incredible all along the way as the sea stretches on both sides. The entrance to the faro costs 2 euros to go inside and up, where the panorama over Praia do Norte and the Atlantic is just spectacular. Inside, there’s a small exhibition of surfboards. From the top, the power of the ocean feels almost unreal. It’s a place that stays with you. Highly recommended.
