Foz do Lizandro

Superb and largest beach in Mafra. Its unique feature is that the Lizandro River flows through it, offering a warmer alternative for those who prefer not to swim in the colder, more unpredictable waters.

Great beach! Lots of space and restaurants to buu food and drinks! Also a place to rent board or take lesson to learn how to surf. Also possible to rent (or just use) the shade from the umbrellas!

The perfect beach. 3 bar/cafe.....we went to thr surf one which was amazing. Clean toilets. No steps. Clean beach with shallow parts where the river meets- perfect for kids to play/paddle. Free parking.

Great beach. Plenty of room. Good surf for beginners and quite a bit of parking. If the lot is full, there is more parking high up on the bluff with stairs you can walk down. The river creates a wonderful shallow pool that's great for kids to play in. We were there in August and there were a lot of people there, but still had plenty of room for more.

I love this beach for multiple reasons. Ample parking, the boardwalk is convinient, you have access to the river and the beach, and most importantly you have up to 5 bars with great views to the river and ocean. No tobacco can be bought in the bars which means less likely chance of seeing cigarette butts in the sand. Seems to be a great place for all types of surfing. Many tourists are found here due to the English speaking bars. The space is very comfortable and highly recommend a visit.
