We only needed a light snack as we were heading for an afternoon vineyard tour and tasting, so chose to have a beer and toastie. I had cheese and ham, and my wife had cheese and pickle (Branston). Both were excellent with warm and pleasant service. Great place to sit and watch the people toiling up and down to the castle, most stopping to photograph each other in the adjacent gateway.

I finally had the “cream tea” here in Portugal that I’ve been craving since I got back from Edinburgh! It was so good that I also bought a pork & apple pie to take home! Highly recommend Halfway Cafe for homemade goodies, including scones with clotted cream and jam! 😋♥️

A true gem of Silves. Halfway between the river and the castle, this is a great stop for anyone visiting Silves. The drinks are cold, the food is fresh, and the atmosphere is second to none. Whether it’s an afternoon in the shade of the wall, or a cozy lunch inside, this is a must when visiting Silves. Also pet friendly.

Very friendly and welcoming host who gave us excellent service. Great spot for a beer and a toasted sandwich on the way to or from the castle. Other food and drink options are available.

Breakfast here on Sunday. This small restaurant has 4 tables outside with shade. The servant is very friendly and helpful. I think the food is homemade and the portions were good. We had a wonderful meal. I would definitely recommend this!

On a nice and cozy terrace enjoyed a delicious cup of coffee and the delicious homemade scones with clothed cream and jam. Very friendly and welcoming reception.

Great cafe with friendly owner. Best draft beers in town! Also good spot for people watching going up to and down from the castle!
