One of the most beautiful viewpoints in Lisbon. The view over the Tagus River and the red rooftops of Alfama is simply stunning. The atmosphere is calm and romantic, especially in the late afternoon when the light hits the buildings and the river.
The traditional blue and white azulejo tiles add a unique Portuguese character to the spot. It’s a perfect place to slow down, take photos, or just sit and enjoy the scenery. You can see large ships passing by, which adds an interesting contrast between historic Lisbon and modern maritime life.
It can get busy since it’s a popular Instagram location, but there is usually enough space to relax and appreciate the view.
A must-visit viewpoint if you want to experience the true soul of Lisbon.

A really beautiful place to get a really beautiful view of the city, river and cruise ships. Very relaxed environment. Some people playing music and having drinks. Nice coffee shops and pastry shops nearby. Tram 28 goes to this place . A good place to click cool photos. The sad thing is people stealing the beautiful blue tiles from the walls . The authorities must do something to stop it.

Miradouro de Santa Luzia offers stunning views over the Alfama rooftops and the Tagus River. It’s a beautiful and peaceful viewpoint, perfect for taking photos or simply soaking in the charm of Lisbon’s historic district. Definitely a must-visit spot when exploring Alfama.

We visited this viewpoint in a rainy evening and it was magical. Amazing views of Ensenada do Tejo and the Aldama neighborhood. We especially loved the mosaic work very much in the spirit of Lisbon. Must see attraction! I bet it looks pretty in the morning as well.

Miradouro de Santa Luzia is absolutely worth a visit. The views over Alfama’s rooftops and the Tagus River are genuinely beautiful, and for the price of free, you really can’t complain.
It was a bit crowded when we went, but that’s expected given how popular this spot is. Even so, it’s still a memorable place to slow down for a few minutes, take photos, and enjoy the scenery. The viewpoint itself is part of the charm too, with a small landscaped terrace, shaded areas, and classic blue-and-white azulejo panels that make it feel distinctly Lisbon.
One detail I appreciated is that the tile panels aren’t just decorative, they depict historical scenes, including Lisbon’s Praça do Comércio before the 1755 earthquake and the 1147 conquest of the castle (a cool touch if you like history).
That said, I wouldn’t call the views “to die for.” You can get comparable viewpoints nearby, and this is more of a “quick, classic Lisbon stop” than a once-in-a-lifetime moment. It’s also conveniently located in Alfama at Largo de Santa Luzia, right by the Church of Santa Luzia, making it an easy stop while exploring the neighborhood.
Overall, crowded or not, it’s still definitely worth a visit and an easy, memorable addition to a Lisbon walking day.

Nice view of Alfama and the cruise ships
It gives a good view over the Alfama area, and if you are on a cruise ship, you should get a good picture of your ship from this viewpoint. It will likely be very crowded - more than some of the other Miradouros, possibly because it's quite close to the castle. I walked up from the cruise ship …

A very welcoming viewpoint!
The Miradouro de Santa Luzia, with an excellent view over the city and where you can admire a fantastic Mural of tiles that represents the ancient Terreiro do Paço! Next to it is also the Church of Santa Luzia and São Brás, which belongs to the Order of Malta of Portugal and which can also be visit…

Worth the climb
We went on a walking tour of Alfalma and climbed up from the Praça do Comércio all the way to here and then some. It was a great Spring Day and the crowds weren't too bad. I would liked to have lingered for a bit, but the tour moved on. Definitely worth the effort to get here.

Overrated, run down, don’t believe the hype
This place did not measure up to expectations at all. It is very run down, full of migrants selling bracelets and other wares, too many tourists and influencers trying to get their photos. Feel sorry for the locals. View is overrated. Bougainvillea is lovely and the hand painted tiles. Don’t b…

The most popular viewpoint in Lisbon
This was my favorite viewpoint; we visited it several times. I really liked the charming little park with its cyclamen-colored flowering bushes, rows of white columns, and typical blue-and-white azulejo tiles. On the side wall of the white Baroque church are tile pictures depicting historical scene…
