Went here on a day trip while visiting Lisbon. Beautiful sandy beach, clean and spacious. Frequented by surfers. Perfect for sunset watching! There are a couple of nice bars / restaurants near the beach.

Long and beautiful beach, soft sand and full of shells to collect. Collected more than a kilogram of fresh makarel fish on the sand after fishermen, had a nice dinner. There was a strong wind that day, but it was still enjoyable. Walked the whole length of it, there are several good places on the way to have a coffee and rest.

It can get crowded but it is really beautiful. To get there from Lisbon may take some time especially if you have to cross the bridge.

We rented a waterfront house for our stay here. Nice two-storey place in traditional Portuguese style with dark timbers and whitewashed stucco exterior. The beach was on the other side of the street! There was still a pool, too. When the tide was low, people would wade out to the sand bar with buckets in the middle of the channel to dig for clams (I guess). We also visited Aveiro and the local lighthouse. Fun!
