One of the finest dinners during our stay in Quarteira. The food was delicious and pretty non generic compared to other Portuguese restaurants in the city. The owner and the waitress were pretty attentive and made sure that it was fine-dine experience. Don’t skip the deserts.

What a gem! I found this restaurant on Google maps and we decided to go there and it was such a good decision. The food was the best I've had in Quarteira so far! From the starters (garlic mushrooms) to main courses (stroganoff and portuguese fillet) to the dessert (homemade ice cream and mousse au chocolate) the food was a dream! Also the service is super professional, yet warm and nice. Definitely a recommendation and I would love to come back.

You know when you walk into a restaurant when you are traveling and you just know you got it right?
This is that place.
I happened across Restaurante O Arco looking for highly rated restaurants somewhat close to where I was staying and made a note of the other rave reviews. Bottom line up front: this place is what you are hoping it will be.
The dishes are delicious and unique. Recalling the authenticity of the region and paying homage while being new and different enough to evoke excitement.
Adding to the experience is John, the owner and his exceedingly competent staff who strive to make your evening memorable and enjoyable.
Our dinner consisted of appetizers, various fish courses, and dessert. We had red and white whine. The sole and banana dory were standout dishes, and the bacon wrapped dates and shrimp on a bed of avocado mouse had us arguing over who won best appetizer pick.
Bottom line is if you made it this far, make reservations and enjoy that special meal you are looking for.
NOTE: The mobile number is listed on the website and you can make reservations there if need be.

We visited O Arco today and it absolutely deserves its top ranking in Quarteira.
From the moment we arrived, the owner made us feel genuinely welcome — incredibly friendly, warm, and passionate about what he does. The restaurant itself is cosy, authentic, spotless, and beautifully maintained, creating a relaxed and inviting atmosphere.
The food is where O Arco truly stands out. The dishes are prepared with fresh, high-quality produce and presented with real finesse. While many restaurants in Quarteira offer lovely, fresh food, O Arco takes it a step further — delivering a true fine-dining experience with the refinement and balance you’d expect from a gourmet restaurant.
And the desserts… absolutely exceptional. Easily some of the best we’ve had in the area — creative, perfectly executed, and a wonderful way to finish the meal.
A special place that combines authenticity, warmth, and culinary excellence. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Quarteira.

An absolute gem, great service. Owner operated and works at front of the house. He recommended the house wine and it was delightful. We had the lamb special roasted in oven Portuguese style and it was delicious. Fish soup started was also excellent and would recommend it. The house made ice cream is a good way to finish it off. Great place would highly recommend it, not many places left that wipe the crum of your table and make crepes suzette at the table side. Enjoy it while you can owner just turned 75
