It has been a long time since we visited O Cha La while we moved to Lagos. But Isabel and her husband recognized us immediately and made us feel at home again. Lovely juices, yummy cakes, and great coffee. Nice ambience with art exhibition. They are petfriendly. So please whenever visiting Monchique climb the stairs of the main street and don' t forget to have a break at O Cha La

A very cozy place with nice music and very warm atmosphere. The teas, the coffee, the cheesecake, the sandwiches - all super tasty and fair prices! Highly recommended 🙏

Best cheesecake in Portugal!!! This is true if you like a cottage cheese cheesecake, which is not typical in Portugal. Everywhere I tried cheesecake before, it was very much like a weeping cream cake, but in this cafe it is classic cheesecake, creamy but still firm, with moderate sweetness ( OMG I really love how moderate sweet it was). Again, all over Portugal, cheesecakes ( and any other cake) are over sweet. But here you can actually enjoy the taste of cake, rather than sugar.
The husband of the owner ( I guess he is co-owner:) cooks this cake. Well, gratitude to the chief.
But this is not it. Cappuccino!!! I can honestly say that this was one of the best cappuccino I had. I could taste coffee and milk and their perfect combination all together.

This cafe came highly recommended to me by a local. And rightly so! 🥰
A really cosy atmosphere that makes you want to stay a little longer. They had my favourite cake, carrot-nut cake! The food, tea and coffee are good quality and fresh. My cake was amazing. The prices are affordable for these lovingly handmade dishes. They also sell their own brand of jam. The staff are very friendly and made me feel totally welcome!

I found this excellent lunch place just walking through the narrow streets of Monchique. It’s opened only for lunches. It was what I wanted…quiet, good service, a delicious quiche with salad. I ended with an espresso and a chocolate cookie. Washrooms were immaculately clean!! Two thumbs up!

Great cozy spot with a very nice lady who makes the most delicious apple pies and quiches. Enjoyed it with a bica.

Small break over a tea from the Azores accompanied by a delicious homemade cookie. Everything is refined and fresh ... the body cake made me look great for who loves.
The lady speaks French in addition
In short, do not hesitate to take this little break.

You have to chance upon this place and venture there, it is worth it, the boss is adorable and the hot chocolate a pure delight, rarely drank a chocolate so good, the boss told us she made her blends herself 👍the cakes are delicious too and homemade.
