I have know the owner since we met in Amsterdam 1981 . I'm a solo traveller and came to see Rotten and Pat in 1993 . The bar was open in those days but the way it is now . I stayed in one of the rooms with my friend Sam . And every day we did something different . He took us to a castle in silvas . One of his friends took Sam and myself fishing . There was a birthday party a 40th . So we helped washing all the tables and chairs and getting all the drink bought for the party . What a party . I enjoyed it so much that I still remember my stay there fondly . Thanks for the memories .

Paid two visits this week .... Sunday lunch and "pie night" (Tuesday). On both occasions, the meals were lovely, both plentiful and very tasty. The service was very efficient and the beer and wine very good also. Great value for money! We'll be back.

We've been visiting Burgau since 2017, no visit is complete without calling into The Pigs Head. Always loads of banter, funny stories. The owners are class, especially if you have a sense of humour! We're sad that they no longer serve food, but fully understand that they've been slaving over a hot stove for over 30 years! A few drinks and a catch up at the bar, a game of pool and we're happy.
Retirement is on the horizon for the owners. We wish them all the best, and we are thankful for the memories.

Incredible place: What a great bloke !!! Cold beers, efficient service (even for an aging POM Rotten your doing ok!)
But do have to say I was a bit curious, we did read a few reviews prior to walking in. For us (a Deutsch/Kiwi couple)
Was almost in tears when he told us the story of the "Canadian" experience, which was pretty much what you read in the review from them........ hilarious proof that some folk can't take a joke and become Darwins cannon fodder by default.
In the end we had a couple beers, some great food, menu was rather extensive considering.
We left hoping Mr Rotten will still be there telling quality yarns the next time we're back. Cheers again.

We enjoyed the Sunday roast a few weeks ago with friends and family. We returned as a couple for the Tuesday pie night.
All the meals were terrific, meats were tender and moist, the gravy plentiful and delicious. Tomato soup was very good and not salty, tasted homemade and fresh! Desserts were great too. Beer and wine selections were also excellent!
Prices were definitely reasonable.
I highly recommend The Pigs Head for high quality comfort food!
