Do not miss! This is a very short Levada, around 20-30 minutes each way that leads you to one of the most impressive points of view in Madeira. The views are breathtaking! Usually very busy in the afternoons, so the best time to go would be in the morning.

As long as you can accept that there may well be plenty of other people wanting to do this walk, it's great. This would be a perfect introductory "Levada Walk" ( a walk beside an irrigation channel), and with the irrigation channels needing to be almost flat, it is suitable for many people. There and back is 3km and there's a great café halfway with tables and chairs made from pallet wood and a WC. If you prefer walks away from others, or longer walks, consider other walks. Parking is not easy but not impossible (there were a couple of police officers advising on parking the day we went).
As of 2026 you have to pay €4.50 to do this walk, and it can only be done via your smartphone. There were two forestry officials at the start of the trail checking that people had the QR codes on the day we went. We were able to do it via our phones there and then, but you might want to do it via the WIFI wherever you are staying.

Very easy, walkable back and forth path, no level difference, jungle feeling all the way. At the end of the trail there is a round balcony with stunnig view ( I guess because when we arrived, it poured very hard and it was foggy ). There is also a small, very friendly, cosy coffee/snack bar.

It’s a very short walk,a lots of people at the balcony and you have to wait to take a photo. The view is beautiful. Entrance is 3€. Not to many parking spaces.

Very easy path around 1 hour slow walk. No stairs, no numb limbs, no sweating - just forest, water stream and greenery. Very beautiful view. There is a small bar/cafe along the way where you can buy some drink and food, and spend some time watching the mountains
