Love this beach! A river comes down from the falls that are about a 10 minute hike from the beach and the whole place it just stunning. There is a new Italian restaurant right on the beach (used to have a burger type of pub but has new owners). The food was amazing! A note to keep in mind is that we went off season and the bathrooms were closed. Also the waves can be ROUGH! Be very careful with small children or even as adults at high tide! I think there are natural springs because the sand was warm and the water is so warm it makes you want to get in!!

Praia dos Moinhos is a destination worth every mile, not just for the beautiful beach, but thanks to the incredible experience at the beachfront snack shack. Since the owner and team made the switch to serving Italian food—their native culinary specialty—the menu has truly become spectacular. Every dish we tried was fresh, authentic, and full of flavor, a real cut above the usual beach fare.
Beyond the food, the staff and owner stand out for their genuine concern for your satisfaction. You can really feel the pride they put into both the menu and their service. If you’re anywhere near, make it a point to stop in—the combination of scenery, food, and hospitality makes Praia dos Moinhos a memorable and delicious spot.

Probably one of the best beaches I have visited in Azores. They have good toilets and also good place where you can enjoy your stay in the beach. It also has a lifeguard point. The beach has big waves and most of the people are playing with them.
The best part of the beach is the beach bar. It closes a 7 pm but you will enjoy a soft DJ while you are having your drinks. Some animals surrounding the club which provides a full local experience

Very nice vibe at the beach — relaxed and not too crowded, which I loved. There were lifeguards present, which made it feel safe, but I wouldn’t recommend going too far into the ocean. Overall, a great place to spend the day!
