Praia Fluvial das Canaveias is truly a hidden gem and easily one of the most stunning river beaches I’ve ever visited. Nestled in a serene natural setting, it offers an incredibly relaxing atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at peace. The surrounding nature is simply astonishing — lush greenery, fresh air, and the soothing sounds of the flowing river create the perfect escape from everyday life.

The water is crystal clear, soft, and refreshing — ideal for swimming, especially during hot summer days. There's a lovely grassy area that's perfect for sunbathing or just lounging under the sun with a good book. Plenty of well-maintained benches and shaded picnic spots make it ideal for families and groups. It’s also very kid-friendly, with a safe and calm water area and space for children to play freely.

The facilities are excellent, including clean and accessible toilets, and a cozy café offering drinks, snacks, and light meals at very affordable prices. Staff were friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall positive vibe of the place.

Great river beach near the large village of Vila Nova do Ceira. Plenty of water for a swim and the cafe there is excellent value: Hamburger at €3.50 and a large beer at €2.
