Quinta do Monte Travesso

Fabulous place. We turned up on a Sunday (nominally closed) but were still warmly welcomed and bought some of their wine in return for a pitch with access to power, water and characterful shower and toilets. (You can book through Portugal Easycamp) Peaceful with phenomenal views, only two of us there in the five spaces (June) and lovely to walk around the vineyard. Sadly did not get the chance to do the tour (as they’re closed on Sundays as they clearly state), otherwise perfect.

Nice little afternoon touring the vineyard with my wife and their winemaker Bernardo. Learned a lot about their fifth generation property and their winemaking process. Tasted some of their delicious wines and olive oil. Judith is a rare 2022 vintage red that they’ve only made three times in 25 years. In 2022 everything aligned perfectly and they produced it making only 600 bottles. We got to enjoy one of them during our tasting! #ThanksBernardo #GreatWines 🍷

We had a wonderful time there. It’s great to walk around the vineyard. The wine is fantastic and the people running the place are so kind. We stayed at the three room guest house and we received fresh bread and a bottle of wine! The views are beautiful.

Beautiful winery. We came here with BL Heritage Tours. We had a lovely home cooked meal along with multiple wine pairings. It was delicious and the staff were all so friendly and welcoming.

Absolutely wonderful!! We stayed in the 3 bedroom house and it had most everything we needed. And if we needed something, you just had to ask. The fridge was fully stocked with breakfast items. Enough for lunch as well. The daily bread delivery was scrumptious! As was the bottle of wine that was there upon arrival.

The views were gorgeous. Driving through the winery was a unique experience. Lots of areas to walk and explore.

We did a wine tasting and decided, after 10 days in Portugal, that it was our favourite tasting experience.

I would not hesitate to recommend this location!
