After reading the negative reviews I decided to dine elsewhere last night. However, they could not grill the fish whole (instead of split) so I left. As I walked around the corner the street hawker for A Fonte was funny, friendly & fluent. I asked him if they could grill the fish whole & he said ‘of course’. He had me select the fresh fish I wanted, instructed the staff what I wanted then went back to solicit more customers. Meanwhile I enjoyed a glass of wine & olives.
The wait staff was accommodating, helpful & friendly. The outdoor diners were all happy & enjoying different menu items.
My dinner plate came out piping hot & delicious with my fish exactly as ordered with lime butter, beautiful fresh carrots & green beans, a small salad & boiled potatoes. All for a total of €23, itemized on the bill.
I recommend this restaurant.

A bit hidden in the streets behind it, but definitely worth it. Typical Portuguese cuisine with quality dishes and good service. Friendly service and reasonable prices, but you have to set your own limits when it comes to choosing dishes. Otherwise the bill can be quite high.

4 of us came to your restaurant on Friday evening and had the most incredible sea bass! Not only that but all of the waitresses were so lovely, one even sang for us and made our night with her sense of humour. Overall a great experience and can’t wait to return. Thank you

What a fantastic restaurant. Gabriel are waiter was an absolute fantastic guy, we had 3 kids with us and he was brilliant with them. Altogether we were a table of 9 and service was excellent. We all thought the food was amazing, portion sizes were really good, mains in photos were accompanied by veg, rice and chips. The paella was for two people sharing and it was ample. We all walked away very full and happy.
We only have two days left of the holiday, wished we'd found it earlier.

An absolutely fantastic dining experience.
