Contrary to some of the reviews I’d seen, the lady who appears to be the owner was absolutely lovely: friendly, welcoming, and spoke excellent English. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch of delicious local tapas full of flavour. Highly recommend!

Traditional, local, authentic, suburb! It was truly a wonderful experience to share the tastes of Monchique in this lovely small place. Extremely generous portions of delicious items. Huge selection of the fire water including ones with honey and cinnamon. Locals come in because it is genuinely one of their spots but super welcoming to tourists. Desserts were fantastic and homemade.

Good food with some interesting extra flavours (like the pumpkin jam with the cheese), very nicely arranged on the plates by the way - for those who Instagram ;). Warm atmosphere, pretty interior. What more do you want?

Tradições is a very charming place, very well located by the main square in monchique.
The staff was super friendly, and accessible explaining about the different products.
We also ate some almond cookies that were delicious, home made and that takes to a sweet childhood memory.
I am looking forward to return and will recommend this place to everyone.
