We came to the city by accident, got hungry, and chose Avant-Garde — such a great choice! The food was absolutely delicious, with so many items on the menu created from scratch. I didn’t even take pictures because I started eating right away 😍
I had the salmon — amazing. My husband ordered the vegetarian bruschetta. I was a bit suspicious at first, but it was packed with flavor and I loved it. And you have to try their desserts 😍 panna cotta and chocolate mousse.
It’s the best gastro find in Portugal.

Finding this gem on the front by the river was a lovely gem in itself. Phillipa was our waitress and very charming and friendly - we opted for a cheeseboard share which consisted of 4 different semi hard - hard assortments alongside crackers and grapes - very pleasant. Later we shared mussels and hone made potato fries - the muscles were delicious and in a very hot wine and garlic broth - very enjoyable.

Wow. The winter menu is in and the French Onion Soup is awesome. Amazing service with our hostess (Filipa?) smiling and taking care of everyone’s needs. This is a true gastro adventure for foodies and locals alike. Try the roasted veggie pasta or the soft and delicate Sea Bass. Fresh!!! Super tasteful food and vibe. Bravo. I will be back!

Amazing food, really tasty. We had beetroot and regular carpaccio. And pasta with vegetables and steak. All perfect. Just one thing to improve is the desserts. They had ben&jerry ice cream, well… I don’t think that’s a good idea if your food is very good. Better provide own desserts. That’s why 4 stars, it the dessert was good it was a 5 star absolutely.

I can only say 5 star things about this place! We had a great lunch, within a charming and warm atmosphere, enjoying high quality food listening to music like Dave Brubeck, Art Blakey, Louis Armstrong...the desserts were wonderful (try the strawberry one), and the service was just impeccable. I will go back and have dinner there as soon as I can. Simple place, simple menu, just right; you don't need more.
