Relaxed Sunday afternoon tapas. Great live music too. Just went bread, cheese ham plate with melon. Gorgeous.

Pud was ice cream and the fig and almond pud.

Excellent service, plenty food, smashing atmosphere. Would highly recommend!

Café Inglês is such a great place to visit, situated right below Silves Castle. We stumbled across this quaint Cafè on a Sunday afternoon earlier this year just after the live band had finished, so a few months later we returned to make sure we could watch one of the many live bands that frequently play here,and trust me, we weren't disappointed. Live band starts around 8pm on a Saturday night so we arrived early to eat this time, before the band started. The food was fantastic and so was the entertainment, such a great atmosphere at this venue, so thank you to everyone at Cafè Inglês for literally making our holiday 🥰

THIS is our new favourite place!! We found Café Ingles when we visited Silves in June '25.
It was a pure treat to find the café on the steps leading up to the Castle. A band was playing on a Sunday afternoon... an outside seat, nice breeze, shady trees... an' imperial' and a Dry Martini & lemonade in a tall cocktail glass. This visit made such an impression on us. We couldn't wait to return!

Came back to Portugal in September '25 - and thought that this time, we'd have dinner, then stay for the Saturday night band. We chose the Lamb Bourguignon, with mash & roast veg... and the Sea Bass with Citrus Cous Cous (and a huge side salad). Both were amazing!! Our compliments to the chef/s!! 👨🏻‍🍳💜👨🏽‍🍳
The band on the 20th September was Trio Atlantico.... "World Music". Two hours of funky guitar, drums & Bongos. Music from many Portuguese influences. (8.pm start).
Then we went back today.. to have drinks, and catch the Sunday 'covers' band (2pm stay). Today was "Yes, Mam"... 5 piece band, with a female lead singer.
On both days the atmosphere was amazing. The staff, who wait on the tables, deserve a mention... they all get into the music, whizzing around, serving trays of food & drinks, and stopping to have a boogie with the customers. All hard working guys & gals... and very attentive to the customers needs. Regarding the cost - we had 2 really delicious dishes, with a litre of bottled water, a pint of Cider, a half pint of beer, 2 after dinner brandies (each being the size of a 'double'. In the UK, if not more).
Then, 2 small black coffees and a larger coffee with milk. This cost us £48.

We stopped here after visiting the castle and we’re so glad we did! The food is absolutely incredible- highly recommend the roast beef! It’s lovely outside and the staff are simply fabulous and really attentive. Really good selection of food and drink, I was disappointed we only discovered this cafe our last day otherwise we would have been back for the beef!
