The most popular local family run restaurant in Lagos. Many queue here for over an hour to eat. Portions are large and the atmosphere is lively. Head chef (and only chef) works very hard

My wife and I shared a home style cataplana while my son had a Portuguese style sirloin steak. All the food was amazing and there was very high demand to get in this restaurant with a queue of people waiting to get in. We managed to book a couple of days in advance on a night when there would have been a bit of a wait to be seated so best to go early in your time staying in Lagos as you really need to eat here, it's that good!

The wait for a table is long. I suggest getting there 20 minutes before it opens because that's when people start lining up and still you'll be waiting a bit for a table and service. The service is a little slow because of how busy it gets.

The shrimp dish or shrimp pasta is a must !

The melon prosciutto was so sweet and delicious.

Cataplana is their main popular dish so you gotta try it. It's a light coconut curry broth.

Casinha do Petisco, a tiny family-run restaurant locals love with maybe a dozen tables. The dad was cooking in the back, the mom made desserts and served, and their son served as well. Every dish was created and served with purpose and pride.

We had prosciutto with melon, fresh salad, Vinho Verde, olives, bread, and the star of the night — an incredible Cataplana Mista (shrimp, clams, and fish in a rich garlicky broth). We both said we could live in that sauce because my god it was absolutely incredible.

We were so lucky to get in because of the limited seats and they dont take reservations. They only serve about two turns per night because each rush is so intense for the family, but there is a 2 hour wait once the restaurant is fully seated. One chef, two servers, and a line out the door waiting because its worth it.

It was honestly one of the best meals of our lives, finished off with homemade desserts that were unique to the region.

If you are lucky to get in, which you need to get there early and wait on line, get the Cataplana, it's worth every second you wait. A masterpiece.

It’s the best restaurant I’ve tried in Lagos in terms of flavor! It can be hard to get a table (15 tables for 30 people in total), but it’s definitely worth the wait. Besides the Cataplana, I also highly recommend their grilled fish — perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Waiting 30 minutes is absolutely fine, but if the queue is over an hour, you might consider going to Pinhao for grilled fish (especially for their spicy seasoning) or and Calhou for traditional Cataplana.
