Very amazing experience considering the ticket price. In such a "rural" area it's an amazing place to go and have a look at the amazing wildlife of the world. There's some "antiquity" marks on the exposition, but it's very well maintained given all that.
Some rare species, that not even in the Lisbon zoo I was able to find. Definitely recommend the place!

I enjoyed the zoo and the animals were impressive, appearing healthy and well-fed. However, the facilities could use some improvement, as the space wasn’t well-maintained. I recommend a visit, but be cautious about the amenities— the toilets were dirty, and there’s no coffee shop available.

Although there's a few too many nettles and many enclosures you can't quite see the animals, it's still a nice walk with many wild animals to see. As a private maintained space we could appreciate the effort to keep it, we hope you get the funds needed soon. Plenty of shadows and benches to rest, a beautiful setting with some animals casually strolling around.
No food allowed inside.

We enjoyed the zoo, the sight and the animals. I think there is a lot if work put in there through the years from humble and hard working people. Be cautious its not for everyone, its quite steep at some point and demands trail effort. No coffee shop available, bring your snacks and water.

I quite liked going there, but it is definetly not for everyone. It's much more of a "rustic" or "rural" type of zoo. It's not fancy by any sorts, the floors is all dirt and litle rocks. I will say there could be some more maintenance to the bushes and weeds, because they are spreading quite a bit making it harder to see the animals.
When my family and I went we were able to catch one of the owners feeding the primates, they seem to be very respectful of him, and he obviously appears to have a good relationship with them.
He seems very sweet, and told us about a few of the primates in particular, and he obviously seems to have a enormous love and interest for them.
They don't have a huge variety of animals, mainly primates, lemures and such. Some birds, like parrots, peacocks, grous, ducks, gooses. And a few other species.
I get how most people may think they aren't well maintained, but please keep in mind, it's a private institute, owned by a old couple.
Ideally they have more help and people there so it could be a better experience, but for that they need support and money from the tickets.
