Fishermans Association Club and Restaurant

On a quiet Wednesday in low season we had the service of royalty. What a fantastic lady that took us to the fish display to patiently explain all the options. She took extra care of the 92 years old lady in our company.

Learnings: shrimp cocktail is more like patatoe salad. Bbq shrimp taste fantastic and come with a full plate of fries. The seabass is so good your want to take the big one.

Marvelous restaurant with excellent fresh fish, ostensibly caught by the local co-op fisherman owners of the place. Located on the riverfront on the south side of town and surrounded by ruins of old processing buildings, this very nice large restaurant is a delightful surprise when you enter! Bright and sunny, plenty of seating and wonderful service make it a very nice experience. And, the food is top notch, at very reasonable prices.

If you want a local restaurant experience with all the real traditional portuguese fish in Vila Real de Santo António, this is the place to go. Its a tradional cosy modest place, ran by the local fishermen, with extremly fresh and quality fish, delicious! Excelent choices to pick from, every option is so so good! Sardines are great, peixe espada, and of course the truely local clams the "Conquilhas" are some of the best i ever tasted! Staff is frendly and very helpfull. As a traditional typical place, you can't even pay with card so be prepared and take money with you. If not there is an ATM 5min away by car. It totally worth it!!

We came here for lunch and we enjoyed, we have stayed in Real San antonio a few time's and have wanted to eat here, we arrived around 3 and were shown to a table straight away, as everything is in Portuguese we were trying to use the translation on our phone to see what to eat, the waitress came and helped us and looked after us so well, so Fatima thank you, you made our meal in restaurant so nice and enjoyable, all the staff were very friendly and professional and we will definitely return, between clams, salad, bitoque d porch, and lovely vino we enjoyed 😋😋
