Don't be fooled by the hidden entrance and the suspicious staircase. This place is simply amazing. The food is simply glorious. I have not had better seafood ANYWHERE!

You MUST visit on your trip to Tavira.

I had the clams to start, followed by the sea breeze. Both were perfectly cooked. Full of flavour.

100% would recommend this restaurant.

This cozy local spot has a nice, welcoming atmosphere. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and made us feel comfortable throughout our visit. We enjoyed it enough to return twice on the same day. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area.
Edit: Just went for the third time—too good, especially for such an affordable price. Big shout-out to the elderly waiter; such a kind and welcoming guy.

If you’re not a local, just a heads-up: the restaurant is on the first floor. It felt like a true local spot in Tavira. The last time I tried octopus was about four years ago in Croatia (octopus rings), so this time we went for Oven-Baked Octopus and Sea Bream. Both were delicious, with the olive oil and garlic flavors really shining through, and perfectly grilled in the oven.

The staff spoke only a little English, but with the English menu it was easy enough and what mattered most to me was their friendliness and the warm welcome with a smile, which they absolutely delivered. The atmosphere was lovely too. I even tried a typical Tavira dessert that wasn’t on the menu: egg, cream, roasted almonds, and caramel syrup. A sweet way to end a really enjoyable meal.

Stumbled upon this little hidden gem in Tavira and wow – what a find! 🍴🇵🇹 Tucked away off the main streets, it doesn’t look like much from the outside, but the food… absolutely delicious. Proper Portuguese flavors, fresh ingredients, and big portions that leave you happy (and full!) without breaking the bank.

The prices are almost shockingly cheap for what you get – like one of those spots you want to keep secret, but also can’t stop telling your friends about. The staff are super friendly, laid-back, and make you feel right at home. It’s got that cozy, no-frills vibe that just feels authentic.

If you’re in Tavira and want tasty, affordable Portuguese food away from the tourist traps – this is THE place. Hidden, but worth finding!

We were nearly put off by the dark stairs leading up to the restaurant but I’m very glad we gave it a go! The food was great, especially the off-menu vegetarian fritters that they made for me. The wine carafes were very reasonably priced.

We went to this space recommended by someone else, since outside would not draw our attention. They said the food was good and for a good price, but that didn't happen. I ordered seafood rice and, although well served, the taste was kind of strange. It wasn't bad, but... Being still above a place b…

Inconspicuous restaurant, something hidden in the entrance. Super fresh fish, authentic Portuguese cuisine. Also the locals apparently like to eat here . the grilled Dorade and also the Bacalhau a Bras were just great. We stayed here twice during our visit to Tavira and would love to come back!

We have been visiting this emblematic establishment in Tavira for years. In associative premises, we are welcomed by Eloisa, warm, friendly, who always has a pleasant word for her customers. The local cuisine is simple but delicious. We highly recommend this restaurant located in the heart of the c…

From the outside this place doesn't look that promising, and isn't immediately obvious there's a restaurant. But inside was full and for good reason. In a rustic, vintage setting you get great value food and drinks and attentive service. Well worth a visit if you like back to basics dining.
