Hands down one of the best meals I’ve had outside uk. I had the seared tuna with a pistachio cheesecake dessert - both first class! Two courses for two with bottle of wine, water and Irish coffees under 60 euros with our discount staying at hotel!

Mare's in Tavira has delicious food. We ate there 4 times in 3 days . Dicha the young waitress is wonderful , always smiling and happy to see us. The other dishes also looked delicious. The service is great . Definitely a place to enjoy in Tavira .

Surprising restaurant, quietly located and with a high standard of food and very friendly service. Original presentation of the dishes and perfectly prepared. And yes, you sometimes come across bones in a fish. Perfect place to end the evening in Tavira.

Really cozy restaurant by the river with nice food and atmosphere. 10% discount, if you stay at Residential Marés. There are tables available outside. Reservations recommended, because in the evening it can get busy. Friendly service.

We were strolling along the river side when we saw the sign for Mares and decided to stop for lunch and a drink. They do an excellent lunch menu of a main dish and a drink for €14. We had the codfish and the squid and BOTH were delicious. Highly recommended

Bad experience; I don't know why it has good reviews. We ordered two things and they didn't have them. The water is tap water but in an open bottle. Waited an hour and a quarter for a very average main course. Salmon was over cooked. Service was very disjointed. People seated after us served before us. Three items from menu not available but our waiter hadn’t been told, we just overheard from the next table. Asked for a second drink as nobody …

This was a great restaurant for a family meal out. Options for the less adventurous (burger, pork) but also the opportunity to try some local fish Seabass and Tuna. Lovely starters of fries with, bacon and eggs and Chorizo and onions. We sat outside and it was lovely to watch boats coming and going…

We went to see Tavira and tried it out.
Excellent service from the 2 waiters who served us. Good portions and reasonable prices. We ordered broken eggs, grilled squid with pumpkin puree and another fish that I don't remember, everything was very good, good presentation.
