O Bistrô Dos Amigos

Fabulous! This restaurant was recommended by our host and it definitely lived up to the hype. We enjoyed their special lunch menu and everything was delicious.

Lovely little Bistro in the Marina Apartments block. We are frequent visitors to Olhão and had been a little sad to see the Portuguese Tacho D'Avó leave and be reincarnated as this Bistro - but it's turned out to be a fabulous successor. Evertyhing is made with skill and care from scratch, the set lunches are utterly delicious - and there are other options if you don't see something you'd like on the plat du jour. Good selection of both French and Portuguese wines at reasonable prices and there is a joyful, friendly vibe from the hard-working, lovely and helpful staff. We love it!

I had lunch here with my OH because the weather was bad and it was close to our apartment. So glad we did. It's a small place and was busy but they were happy to accommodate us without a booking. The food is classical French, simple but simply delicious. Everything is cooked fresh from scratch so they can accommodate variations to the menu. My husband had steak and chips with Roquefort sauce and I had steak tartare. We both had crepes for dessert. The staff were very friendly and took time to chat despite being very busy. It made a lovely atmosphere. The other diners were mainly French and despite our poor French we managed to chat and share a joke. We left feeling well fed and in good spirits.

O Bistrô Dos Amigos is a lovely French restaurant in a great spot, just a short walk from the beach. We really enjoyed our meal here – the food was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. We both had salads, which were super tasty and felt light but satisfying, perfect for a warm day by the coast. The staff were very attentive, friendly, and made us feel welcome throughout the meal. A charming place with excellent food and service – highly recommended if you’re nearby!

Dos Amigos is not easy to find, but when you do, you will be happy and well fed.
The food is very well cooked French Bistro style with a good value three course Plat du Jour which changes every other day. There is also an excellent À la carte menu.
The ambience is friendly with excellent service.
Sagres beer is available on draught and great French and Portuguese wines are served by the glass and bottle.
Ate here three times in a week in February 2026. It’s very popular so I would recommend reserving a table.
