Excellent local food. A daily handwritten Menue guarantees you only the freshest quality food. I recomand the clems, but you have to be an early bird to get those.
The owners are warm and welcoming and you will feel like home eating there. We went there twice just for the tuna steak. Housemade desserts and fairly prices will sweeten your visit in this family restaurant.
You even get free WiFi.

So pleased to have found this unassuming restaurant just a few minutes walk from the tourist restaurants in Tavira centre.
We had not booked but were welcomed in and told we could have drinks and couvert until a table became free. The restaurant has a traditional feel to it and the dishes were traditional algarvian fare. We had Tuna with onions, Pork and clams and chicken with mushrooms. Portions were huge and a bottle of wine for €8 made it great value.

My family & I ate here last night. The restaurant was busy & we did not have a booking although the staff said no problem we will make a.table outside.
The staff are truly excellent & so friendly and explain everything on menu.
We ordered the squid , pork , chicken & a salad. Alll traditional Portuguese food cooked well & big portions. Very good value for money. Just a great place to try local food I just near the river.
If you are in Tavira just go & give it a go. Absolute Gem. Thanks everyone

The best calamari I ever ate. The prawns were also incredible. The portions were big and filling. Overall the experience was great and I highly recommend this restaurant for everyone who wants to try some delicious local treats.

Super authentic wholesome Portugese experience. The tuna portion was wonderfully substantial, as was the clam and pork dish. Friendly gorgeous staff. Fair pricing without the frills. ( We returned a second evening!)

A simple and not very touristy place in the center of Tavira.....
We tasted three dishes: baby squid, cod, and tuna that brought tears to my eyes.... each one better than the last!!!

It is a small local restaurant, frequented mainly by locals, although it seems that we are gradually arriving some tourists, where you can enjoy the local product and the local food.
Prices are economical and the reasons are generous (with one starter and one serving eat two people).
