This tiny spa town is just beautiful. Take a picnic and eat in the Eucalyptus trees, watch butterflies flutter past, listen to the bird song, walk the short trail to the top off the river (trickle) source. Enjoy the fabulous local history and hospitality in a bar. Buy local lace, drink local hooch. See the various art works in the local guest shop (take plenty of money this is serious art) Wander under the stars at night. Very romantic if you ate a couple.... we will return

Was there in January, cozy place ,have a real fire place indoors , wasn't crowded because of off season . Drinks were bit over priced as compare to local areas prices .. but if you're coming from Britain then like myself then it's still quite cheap for ya.

Wine & Beer bar O Tasco is a located at the lovely small square of Caldas de Monchique. O Tasco offers coffee, drinks, finger food and simple dishes. Caldas de Monchique is popular with tourists and spa guests. Service is adequate.
Revisiting Caldas de Monchique (first visit 1980) we were tempted…

We had lunch here - ordered piri piri chicken - the wait was 30 minutes - but WELL worth the wait! Some staff speak English - not all. There was quite a few locals in the restaurant- which tells us it’s popular. Two chicken with ber and wine was 22.30.

Nice place, but expensive drinks! We would not go back as there are places nearby selling drinks for half the prices charged here!

The food was delicious - you have to try their home made chorizo bread - it is gorgeous! The waitress was extremely helpful and friendly. Gorgeous interior with the choice to sit outside also.
