My wife and I stopped here for a lunch- dinner while exploring the mountain. I had read the good reviews. Being tourists, we opted for the “tourist” choice on the menu. It was fantastic- and filling. Salad to dessert prepared with love. Hope to come back soon.

This is a proper local. Try the chicken stew cooked with cherries soaked in the local eau de vie made from the fruits of the strawberry tree, it’s a winner, especially after all mountain walk. We arrived after an enormous coach party but no matter, we were served like kings. Everyone around us was enjoying their food - delicious grills, tender kid, fish - and all very reasonably priced. In the summer you can sit outside with beautiful views. For dessert, have the crème caramel (not the one on the ice cream menu) their home made one. Small but perfectly formed, it is served warm and not too sweet with an erotic wobble, very good.

The food is super good and the view is amazing. I can highly recommend the chicken soup, the tuna steak, and the chicken stew with cherry.
Unfortunately they do not have nice desserts, they are all frozen and they just heat them up.

Great place that can easily be missed if you drop up towards the Foia. Parking can be a little bit tricky if it is busy but it is worth it.
The service was good and quick. And the food was great. The chicken Piri Piri was good and so to was the Kid Stew (yes baby goat).
Definitely coming back here.

What a wonderful place. Unfortunately we couldn't see the view as it was raining on the day we went, but were warmly welcomed at 11.55am by all the many friendly, helpful staff. I had the house speciality pork cheeks which were divine and husband had a huge steak with delicious homemade chips. Delicious carob, fig and almond tart and flan for dessert. Excellent value for money.

The restaurant is located just below the summit of Fóia (at 902 m the highest mountain in the Algarve) in the beautiful Monchique mountains. The outdoor area is, besides the food, one of the highlights, because you can look from there, past Portimão, about 21 km to the Atlantic. On the menu, beside…

A great place to stop if you visit Monchique . Authentic Portuguese food prepared and served by a welcoming family and an unrivalled view to go with it . There is outdoor dining under tree cover as well as plenty of space inside. If you have children with you there is a small play area at the back…

I have been to the restaurant Paraiso do Montagne many times! The first time has to be around 2000 or 2001. Why we went first or who told me I do not know. Two ladies run it and have been there as long as I have been lunching there. We visited with a friend. There is always a Couvert - cheese, brea…

We chanced upon this place first one down the hill and were greeted by two ladies who made us most welcome under the cedar tree. I persuaded my wife to have the rabbit stew for two and even the sceptic praised it. We could not have had better food attention or view from the terrace. Go there if you…
