Praia da Arrifana

A true surfer's paradise, nestled between two large black cliffs, this superb beach stretches for nearly 400 meters, like a cove whose size has been endlessly extended. It nonetheless remains narrow, wedged between the waves lapping at it and a large cliff, closed off by a large stone spire.

It's a favorite spot for locals to sunbathe and an exceptional spot reserved for very experienced surfers. On the heights, the ruins of the Arrifana fort offer a breathtaking and unforgettable view. A magical beach !

Spent a few days here with my partner. It’s quite a nice beach and we got some fun little waves on our long boards. There are plenty of walking tracks around with great views.
Be mindful that there at lots of surf lessons which can pack out the limited breaks but they mainly stay in the white wash.

Beautiful beach! Lots of surfing here and surf camps. Parking lot was 50% full at 10am but full at 1130am when we got back to car. However there is lots of street parking!

Very nice beach! Stunning views from the cliffs! Excellent spot for surfers. On the top nice bars and restaurants.

Super nice spot for surfing if you are a beginner.
Not too crowded even in August.
You can’t go by car directly down to the beach but if needed there is a shuttle that brings you up/down for 1,5€
