Restaurante Brisa do Rio

We visited one evening without a reservation and were seated immediately, even though it was busy. The service was excellent from the start — the waiter recommended a dry white wine, and the house white he suggested was delicious and very good value.

We had the couvert to start, a tasty selection of bread, olive oil, cheese, and olives. For our mains, my partner ordered the lamb carré and I chose the clay-baked sea bass. Both dishes were perfectly cooked, succulent, and full of flavour. The sea bass was particularly memorable, served with cured ham and roast potatoes, with an apple purée that really enhanced the dish.

Although the restaurant was a little noisy, the food, service, and prices were outstanding. Highly recommended — we’ll definitely be back.

Restaurante Brisa do Rio in Tavira delivers great food with a creative twist on local ingredients. Fresh flavors, thoughtful presentation, and a warm setting made the dinner special, enhanced by enjoyable live music that added to the relaxed, memorable atmosphere. The house wine was very good and well priced.
The kitchen needs a bit more ventilation as my clothes were smelling a bit like food afterwards but nothing of concern.

A few years ago, we were there on a lunch and we loved the relaxed atmosphere and the food. We went back last night, and we were seated right away. We ordered our food (more on that in a second), and I asked our waiter for a recommendation of a dry and bold red wine. He recommended a bottle that was not on the menu and my goodness, did it deliver! It was a delicious Douro. The food was great and as yummy as we remembered. We had
- pica pau
- garlic and piri piri shrimp
- orange duck
- lamb chops

Pica pau, although delicious, was the least impressive dish. The other three are to die for! The garlic and piri piri has a such a balanced taste, we could not get enough of it. The orange duck was worthy of raves, but the lamb chops with chimichurri (an interesting sweeter taste on the sauce) was the star of the night.

The plating, the warm, friendly and fast service and the quality of the food served will have us back at this place again soon.

A great restaurant in a wonderful location. The service was amazing and we loved the atmosphere in the restaurant. We have eaten here many, many times and are never disappointed. One of the best in Tavira 👌

We were in Tavira over the Christmas holidays, from the 22nd - 29th of December. We found this restaurant by chance, and we were greeted warmly with a smile. Our meals were amazing with a combination of flavours. We were so impressed with the food, we decided to go again a few days later. The staff were happy to adjust the cooking process for my meal, as I do not eat dairy products. My wife had the pork cheeks, and I had the sea bass with orange sauce and chickpea puree. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.
