Restaurante Prazeres

We had an absolutely amazing dinner here in Faro! The grilled fish and seafood were simply outstanding — perfectly cooked, fresh, and full of flavor. Every bite was a true symphony of taste. The atmosphere was relaxed yet elegant, and the service was warm and attentive. If you’re in Faro and love seafood, this place is an absolute must-visit!

We needed to be in Olhão, and considering all the terrific seafood restaurants, we thought it was about time for a splurge meal. We selected Restaurante Prazeres, from reviews plus having scallops on the menu. We hadn’t had scallops in a restaurant for years. We ordered scallops and mussels as starters and a main of lobster rice as the splurge dish. Al three dishes were exceptional. I have had lobster rice twice before since retiring in the Algarve. Both times the rice was gummy and the lobster cooked to death. Nonetheless, we took the risk. This version of the dish was everything it could be. The tail meat was chopped and the rest of the lobster was intact. The rice was perfect and flavourful, loaded with large shrimp. It was pricey, but if that is okay with you, you can order here with confidence that you will get value for your splurge.

The prices were very reasonable.
It's beside the busy seafront road but the traffic passes slowly by.
The pictures show the dishes half eaten, there were actually 5 delicious chops.

By far the best vieiras we've ever tried. The prawns in garlic and clams were delicious 😋. The service was quick, although the food took some time to be served, but the quality of the food was superb 👌. We highly recommend this place. We shall be back again next year.

As usual one of our top 3 restaurants we return to every time we visit Olhao. The service and seafood are consistently outstanding and an extreme value for what you get. The cuttlefish is my personal favorite and prepared and presented simply and perfectly. Don't let the simple automosphere fool you, what it lacks in ambiance, it more than makes up for in food and service.

Equally impressive is their beef selections which they serve on a sizzling hot stone.

This place is always busy in the evenings so for a quiet meal go early to get a table.
