What a gem!! Went here as the tourist w/ my friend who's the local. My friend was impressed w/ the Portuguese delicious food. I'll make a point of coming back here every time when I'm visiting my friend in Albufeira.

I love this place! It has become my regular spot since moving to Alvor a few months ago. The vibe is warm and welcoming, family owned and the quality of the food feels like home cooked. My favorite is their gourmet burger, with caramelized onions, cheese, bacon, and a side of fries and a glass of fabulous Portuguese red wine. I highly recommend if you’re looking for a high quality, delicious meal that won’t break your bank.

We got a delicious dessert from our boss — he made it himself, and it tasted like pure heaven! An amazing flavor enjoyed in the wonderful company of truly lovely people.

OMG!! Incredible old sweet couple served us amazing sword fish with mushroom sauce and sole fish with banana! Desert which was recommended by them was to die for! Salat is fresh!

A True Hidden Gem — Deserving of Every Success

I rarely write reviews (I’m not very tech-savvy and usually can’t be bothered!), but every now and then I come across a place so special that I feel compelled to share it — and Sabores da Esquina is one of those rare gems.

My husband and I have been in the beautiful town of Alvor for just over three weeks, and we’ve ended up eating here every single night because it’s that good. The restaurant is run by a wonderful family — the father and chef; the mother; and their daughter — and the love they put into their work shows in every detail.

The food is exquisite: fresh, traditional Portuguese dishes cooked from scratch with incredible care. You can truly taste the quality and the “Portuguese love” in every plate. Despite everything being freshly prepared, the kitchen is so well organised that the wait times are surprisingly short.

They are also extremely kind and very accommodating. If you want to tweak a dish to your liking, they’ll happily oblige.

The restaurant itself is spotless, warm, and welcoming, and the service is impeccable.

If you’re anywhere near Alvor, I would recommend giving Sabores da Esquina a try. It’s one of those rare family-run restaurants that you remember long after your holiday ends. They pour their hearts into what they do, and it truly shows.
