We went here looking for the memory of an old restaurant long gone, but were pleasantly surprised and treated very well. Our server gave us lots of information about the area and provided good recommendations on the menu. The starter prawns were big and well cooked in a sauce of garlic and orange juice. We also tried muxamas, which is a dry tuna. Our main of fish rice was huge!! Would go back. We also had 2 wines and a beer and spent €82.

Throughout my life, I have eaten in many high-class restaurants. This restaurant is among my top 3 restaurants I have ever eaten at and it’s here in Olhão. Incredible and professional service, tasteful food and great wines. I cannot recommend this enough. Thank you for this wonderful experience!

Small and lovely. Steak with pepper sauce - that sauce is really REALLY good. Fish with shrimp and rice amazing too. Cash only, be aware.

Tasca O Galo is a hidden gem in Olhão.
I have been coming back numerous times throughout the years and the food, the service and atmosphere are impeccable.
The menu has slight various each time to keep things exciting and there are specials each day that you simple won’t find anywhere else. Each meal is crafted by a true chef in every sense of the word. Quality hand chosen ingredients, perfectly prepared and beautifully presented by amazing staff.
Highly recommended.

Ordered the squid and it was wonderful. Owner was accommodating and empathetic. Whole dining experience was chill and was typical of a seaside city. Would come again.

Acceptable place in a small city. Tasty and fresh sea bass. The shrimps with garlic where also good. Looks like a family run not touristic place
