So I normally arrive in Tavira being met by Family but this trip I found myself solo for an evening, so i put on my explorers hat and ventured out....All my kids said check this place out, so I did, and happy I visited, the Bar area is really cosy, dark green and darker wood, a decent pint of Guinness and of course the wonder that is Supebok.
I was also a bit peckish after my flight so i ordered the Chicken Quesadillas+ some rather hot chilli sauce, no complaints, now 3 sheets to the wind I just have to remember were my hotel is...

The service is exemplary - Sunday afternoon, and the girls did not stop. They are invaluable to the success of The Black Anchor. Always attentive, always smiling, always polite and courteous.

I had Sunday roast - mixed beef/pork with all the trimmings. Fantastic - beautifully cooked meat with tasty fresh veg. My partner had the half roast chicken with chips and gravy. He loved it.
Location, great food, top notch service.
It doesn't come better.

Our second time here. Both times food was very good. The service on Sunday was slower but they were extremely busy as the rugby match was on TV. We had the Sunday roast pork dinner and the chicken noodle bowl. Both were very good. Love this place and will ve back.

We've been here lots of times but only tried the breakfast for the first time yesterday. I had the mini Irish breakfast and my partner had the scrambled eggs with salmon. Everything tasted so good and there was lots of it. Food arrived quickly and it was freshly cooked and nice and hot. The servers, Sarah and Ana were both great, friendly and efficient. In the past I've had the ribs many times and they're the best!! The location of this place is exceptional on the river.
