A Cataplana

Stumbled across this place on a rainy Sunday. Chef was happy to cook for us even though kitchen was supposed to shut in 10 minutes. We had the pork skewer & lamb chops. Very cosy atmosphere. I'm sure on a sunny day will have stunning views. We will certainly be back for the pork skewers.

I invited a party of 14 family and friends to help celebrate my birthday at A Cataplana this week. We were all very impressed with the quality of the meals, the service, and of course the stunning views from the restaurant that look out all the way to the Algarve coastline. I have dined here on many occasions before, and I expect to keep doing so into the future. Highly recommended!

Amazing place in the heart of Algarve. Beautiful views from the top of the mountain. The food was very delicious. Piri Piri Grilled chicken with chips, soup and the fruit salad was delicious. Good place to eat and have great views of the Algarve.

We were all impressed with the Black pork skewer, the steaks, the grilled cod, chicken. That’s why we went back 3 times. The food was delicious and very reasonable in price. Excellent deserts. The veggies were so tasty.
Awesome mountain top view. Go see the beautiful village of Alte first, or go past restaurant to see Cork trees and an awesome mountain lookout!

Amazing food and view coupled with great service. Google reservations shows all booked out but it's not true. Just call then go. Once you enter, Drive to the right and go up the ramp to reach the closest parking spot. I had the wild boar stew special and my wife had the grilled chicken. Both were excellent. The table next to us had the black pig skewer hanging vertically to slice it yourself. It looked amazing unlike the boring kabobs we often get in USA. The house white and red wines by the glass were so-so. I recommend picking your own bottle from the wine list. Vegetable soup was good, hot, and refreshing.
