El Jefe Bar & Street Food

My husband found this little, cozy place because he knows that I am very fond of Mexican food.
So of course we have to try out the place.

I guess the videos speaks for themselves, about the ambience, atmosphere and decoration.

So are you into street food and want to experience Mexican food, this is the place to visit.

We will be back and try out the tacos.

Absolutely fabulous meal here! Can’t really call it a hidden gem since most visitors to the resort will pass it on the way into town but it is a little off the usual tourist trail. 100% worth seeking it out if you are staying in the centre though. Food was delicious and Carlos was a wonderful host. We asked for his recommendations and are very glad we did. No upselling just quality suggestions that tasted divine. We’ll back (hopefully before we leave town) 😊

Had the best time here! Such a welcoming and attentive staff team and you can really see the love and passion they put into the business! They should definitely be more well known, I have never eaten somewhere and come away with such an enthusiastic and happy experience. The food was absolutely divine, the cocktails were delicious and the atmosphere was lovely! Expect to be waiting for your food as everything is freshly made and has a lot of attention to detail, but it’s definitely worth the wait. I hope you guys have only good in the future of your business and if my partner and I ever come back to Portugal, we are heading straight to you guys!

We came here last night, the food was authentic, fresh and tasty - quality! (Would recommend trying a few things from the menu!)
The cocktails - also great! We tried all the beer on offer , some Mexican beer too which we’ve never seen before!

For a relatively new business, the 3 staff members ( one in the kitchen, one on the floor and one behind bar) did a great job on a busy midweek shift !

We 100% recommend, and will be back!

I came here with my friends and my dog. It was great to see that dogs are welcome, and the staff even mentioned they have French bulldogs too.

I had veggie tacos that weren’t even on the menu, which was a nice surprise. My friends ordered burritos and a meat quesadilla and really enjoyed them. The staff were super friendly and gave great advice on what to try.

I also had a michelada, and it was really good. I highly recommend this place - we had a perfect dinner.
