Jota Lita

Easily some of the best food I’ve ever had! This charming, family-owned gem has so much to offer. You know it’s great when the place is full on a Tuesday night in November!

We learned that Lita, who is the daughter of the original owners, is the chef here, and she absolutely knows what she is doing. The food we had (prawns, clams, salmon and piri piri chicken) was incredibly flavourful and fresh. We had only a short time in Algarve but we made sure to come back a second time as the food is just amazing. Lita’s two children work at the restaurant as well, and we had the pleasure of talking to them and they could not be more wonderful.

When you come to Jota Lita, you can tell that the family here is passionate about providing great service, even better food and an overall unforgettable experience.

It’s a cozy, lovely, family run restaurant. The staff were super friendly & helpful - we felt so welcomed by them. Food is perfectly cooked, we ordered so many different dishes over our 3 visits. We visited this restaurant every other day for 7 nights stay in Carvoeiro. Every other day! This is how much we all loved this restaurant :)

I would rate Jota Lita higher than a 5 if I could. We visited on Monday night and right away the staff make you feel at home. The garlic prawns were fresh and delicious, I recommend getting some bread to soak up the sauce. The portuguese steak was cooked to perfection, so juicy and flavourful, as was the peri peri chicken. To finish we had the homemade salted caramel cheesecake. Everything was so good that we made a reservation for the next night too. The second night was even better than the first if that is even possible. The octopus was cooked perfectly, tender and tasty!

It’s a family run restaurant for 3 generations and you can feel how much passion and care they have for quality. Thanks for making our stay in Carvoeiro so rememberable!

From the moment we walked in, we felt incredibly special. The service was absolutely fantastic—attentive, friendly, and genuinely warm. The staff went above and beyond to make our experience memorable, and we had so much fun joking around with them throughout the night.
The food was a true highlight. Every dish was a work of art, looking just as good as it tasted. It was clear that a lot of care and passion went into both the presentation and the flavors.
Thank you to the entire team for a wonderful evening. We can't wait to come back and do it all over again someday!

Easiest review I’ve written. 11/10. Seafood was SO GOOD!!! This place doesn’t miss. Fish of the day (caught locally), tiger shrimp, and garlic prawns, with a side of bed. Great service to go with it! You will be in seafood heaven at this place
