Mad Grill Steakhouse & Tapas

Absolutely 10/10 steakhouse, we had a fillet & rump both were absolutely outstanding (obviously the fillet was better however both were perfectly cooked cuts).

We also had the peppercorn sauce and fries which were packed with flavor.

Dessert varies but if my banoffee pie was anything to go by its definitely worth sticking around for!

Service was brilliant and the staff were very good.

Absolutely would visit again.

We had an absolutely incredible meal at Mad Grill, definitely the best steak I've ever had in a restaurant. The service and staff were outstanding and you cannot go wrong with a glass of local red wine.

Where do I start. I was in Portugal for a full month and this has been by far the best meal I have had in that month. In Portamiao I went to a Michelin star restaurant and a recommendation from a local. The Michelin star restaurant (IMO) was a dud and not that good, the recommendation was good but nothing to write home about.

Mad Grill Steakhouse was something to write home about. I have 3 friends coming to Portugal from Canada in the next 3 months (we have very good steak in Canada mind you) and I messaged each on to tell them they must come here. I even cancelled my other resos to come back.

I can't recommend this spot enough, I got the steak board for 2 (for just myself) and it was the best steak I've had in Portugal and maybe even in Canada, and I had steak at all other recommended restaurants.

I cannot recommend this place enough, the service was amazing, the food was the best i've had to date. I've already shared this spot with 5 others. Highly highly recommend!

Price was not bad, I got enough food for two people for myself and with a tip it was around 70 Euro. Please go here, I beg you.

This place really punches above its weight! The price point is excellent for the amount of food you get, and the portions don’t disappoint. Staff are super friendly and make you feel welcome right away. The meat is the real standout—tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Great value, great service, and great food.

The service was genuinely excellent from the moment we arrived. The place was spotless, and the atmosphere was light and relaxed. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and clearly proud of what they serve. He talked us through the menu and was more than happy to make a few suggestions.

We chose the mixed board to start, and I was impressed before we’d even tasted it. The waiter explained what each item was and exactly where it came from – everything locally sourced, which I always appreciate. The board itself was beautifully arranged and everything on it was full of flavour. There was even a pumpkin sauce which, if I’m honest, I’d never have picked out myself but I’m so glad it was included. It was absolutely delicious and went perfectly with the rest.

For mains we both had the sirloin, which arrived cooked exactly as we’d asked. The steak was so tender you could cut through it like butter, full of flavour, cooked beautifully!

We had every intention of ordering dessert but after the starter and main we were completely full though we’ll definitely be coming back to try it next time.
