An important contributor to Portimãos food scene. Serving up traditional “tibornas” ( bruschettas) using quality canned fish produce. Delicious Muxama (cured tuna slices) and tasting plates and some house specialities. You can also buy treats or gifts here from the expansive display of canned good adorning one of the long walls. A must visit lunch or afternoon stop when in Portimão. The chilled glass of house white wine is delicious & great value. A other speciality is the traditional Almond Tart which goes beautifully with their excellent coffee.

The food here was delicious. Portions were great, prices were suuuper reasonable.

The area is knows for its canning history so it was nice to get to experience some of that. The bruschetta was to die for, as was the Tuna ham. I’d come back here 100x over.

Staff were polite, service was quick, and while the restaurant was small and busy, it didn’t feel too crowded.

Very friendly owner who assists you in choosing a meal if you can't decide. We had a variety plate and a salad with different kinds of fish. The "Tuna Ham" was definitely the highlight for us. The "fish-Pate" was something completely new for us, and we really liked it. On top of that, there is a huge variety of canned fish you can choose from to buy and bring back home. Some of the cans are beautifully wrapped and are an eye catcher.

Absolutely excellent food served here...a.sharing platter is a great way to try a few different things at once, generous fresh burgers and Delicious salads prepared with a 'certain touch'. Cannot fault anything. They deserve all the success in the world.. and the queues at lunch time are worth the wait!

It was the absolutely best tinned fish we ever had! We ordered the tasting plate and the spicy tuna salad and we were not disappointed. The salad had bits of pomegranate, avocado, oranges, plums, cherry tomatoes and nuts among other ingredients. Delicious and delightful. Not too spicy either. Friends who had visited a few weeks before us highly recommended Maria do Mar so we made a special trip for lunch.
