Super tasty Portuguese cuisine in Portimao. It is in the more spacious part of the city with plenty of street parking nearby. Tried the Francesinha and bolo de bolacha with icecream for dessert. Food was absolutely yum and service was good.

The best octopus I tried in my life. The restaurant is a bit small but the service and the food are amazing.

I visited O Viriato during a rainy afternoon on my December 2025 trip to Portugal, and it turned into one of the most memorable meals of my stay. I ordered the robalo escalado—a beautifully fire‑grilled sea bass—and it was outstanding. Perfectly seasoned, smoky, and incredibly fresh, exactly what you hope for in the Algarve.

Enjoying it with a cold beer while listening to the rain outside made the whole experience even better. The atmosphere was cozy, the service friendly, and the food truly top‑notch.

A fantastic spot for anyone who loves authentic Portuguese seafood. I’ll definitely return on my next visit to Portimão.
