O Visconde

This was perhaps the best dinner during our holiday in Portugal. My favourite were fish soup and grilled octopus. There wasn’t much choice to eat out if you stay in the Pausada Palacio de Estoi hotel so it was natural choice for us to eat in this restaurant despite the bad reviews. I was surprised by the quality and reasonable price.

We had a pre-wedding dinner here with my family of 16 and couldn't be happier. Beautiful location, surprisingly good food and very kind, attentive service.

The ceilings of this place are lovely. As are the individual rooms with their associated furnishings. Relaxing.

Good card. Service needs some improvement so that clients need not wait too long.

We had a reservation for four for the Portuguese mothers day, we were told they were fully booked but our friends were staying there so they gave us a table. We ordered the Covert, a shrimp starter and a cuttle fish starter and they were good but our mains were a great disappointment for all of us. The veal was tough and instead of potatoes they gave us those round Puck things they serve at breakfast, they were old and hard. The octopus was swimming in oil and the lamb was flavorless. None of us finished our dinners and at over 20€ a plate it was sad. So the over booked restaurant only had 4 tables the entire lunch so I'm assuming the chef and half the staff were gone and they didn't have enough people to run the restaurant. Other friends had raved about the food here, but I'm in no hurry to return.
