Azymut Restaurant in Lagos is an absolute gem and a must-visit for anyone. From the moment you arrive, you’re welcomed by a warm, relaxed atmosphere and genuinely friendly staff who make you feel truly taken care of. The location is beautiful, offering a calm and elegant setting that perfectly complements the dining experience.
The food is simply outstanding. Every dish is prepared with exceptional attention to detail, using fresh, high-quality ingredients that highlight the best of Portuguese and Mediterranean flavors. The seafood is especially impressive—perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Each bite reflects passion, creativity, and a deep respect for culinary craft. The wine selection is excellent and thoughtfully chosen to pair perfectly with the menu.
What truly sets Azymut apart is the overall experience: impeccable service, refined yet relaxed ambiance, and consistently excellent cuisine. It’s the kind of place you’ll remember long after your meal and eagerly recommend to friends. Azymut is not just a restaurant—it’s a dining experience that exceeds expectations in every way. Highly recommended!

We had such a great experience here! On our first visit, we absolutely loved the appetizer — the shrimps in that incredibly flavorful sauce were unforgettable! 😋😋😋 They were so good that we couldn’t stop thinking about them and decided to come back on Valentine’s Day to try the special menu.
It did not disappoint. Everything was beautifully decorated and although it was more crowded, the atmosphere still felt special. The service was warm and welcoming, just like the first time.
We’re really happy we discovered this spot in Lagos and will definitely be coming back again!

Azimute in Lagos was one of two standout restaurants we visited the city, offering a fantastic selection of Portuguese food and wine, fab service, all in a really nice location with a really welcoming vibe. It's somewhere I can highly recommend!
Azimute itself has outdoor and indoor seating, and we were sat inside when we visited. It's a small and cosy space, and from where we were we could see the bar (made up of boxes from various Portuguese wineries) and also the small kitchen where everything was cooked. The vibe of the place was great - it was busy when we visited but no one was rushed, and our waiter on the night was fantastic too (and joked that everything in the restaurant was Portuguese except himself, as he was actually born in Birmingham!). We visited a tad early for dinner compared to your usual dinner time in Europe, and during the week - if you did want to visit at 'peak' time or the weekend, it might be worth booking.
As for the food - it was really well cooked and very tasty. The menu is relatively small (which is no bad thing, as it means they cook what they're good at), and full of Portuguese meals. When we visited, we tried the seafood xerem and grilled laghartinos. Both meals were fantastic, and the laghartinos were grilled and cooked to perfection - really lovely, tender meat from the ribs. My partner has the seafood xerém and had only positive things to say.
The wine selection was good too, and we decided to go on the sparkling wine on the night - our waiter let us know of a slightly more expensive bottle (a few Euro) they had recently got specially in which he recommended, and so we went for that instead and it was a great accompanying drink to the meal (unfortunately I've since forgotten exactly what it was!).
The meal was on the slightly more expensive side of some restaurants in Lagos, but given the quality, level of service, and just in general how good the food and experience was, this was well worth it!

Our favorite restaurant in the city, but you should definitely show up with a reservation, otherwise you'll find yourself in a queue... like us. But waiting was totally worth it, food was amazing, staff was super nice and fun.
We had the octopus and tuna, both were great choices.

Three things ordered, three disappointments
Algarve-style carrots, boring and without oil
Tough and rubbery octopus, fish in cataplana just bones and spines.
Meanwhile, the waiter who was preparing the drinks was blatantly annoyed by his colleague who was bringing the drinks because of his slowness…

A terribly disgusting experience and I say this with the awareness of someone who knows how to eat quite well. It is unacceptable because of the reheated potatoes, dry cod, and tough octopus; some croquettes where you couldn't appreciate the flavor and a mixture in the breadcrumbs that turned out i…

VERY GOOD restaurant. With definitely local vibe and local food, the food was very good, super fresh, Piri-piri shrimps were the stars of the show)). Salmon was good, the seafood plate was just good, nothing more.

Staff were fab, really engaging and fun, they look like they enjoy the job. A little bit of up-selling, but they’re cute enough about it to overlook. The interior is a packed in skinny rectangle of tables, no more than 40 covers, facing onto a frenetic, open kitchen. Cosy & atmospheric, with a grea…
