A really interesting piece of portuguese history.
I love the inclusion of information about Portugal's involvement in the slave trade.
The fortress is imposing, and it is very impressive to approach.
Definitely worth a visit!

To see and walk through history is such a gift. There is a cost to go in... But the views are well worth it. The history into the fort is awesome, it is known as "the end of the world" it is the furthest western point in Portugal. The walk itself takes about 1-1.5 hours, depending on how much you stop to read about the vegetation, and birds that live and visit there. The cliff views are beautiful. Locals were fishing off some. There is a wind tunnel you can go into. When the waves rush under and into this cavern the pressure from the wind blows up forcefully, and the sounds are intense. There is a metal grate to stand on and get the full powerful experience.

Really nice place for a walk, people are kind but the weather a bit windy as this place has been a fort,so i guess its normal. "Wind" Jacket requires,in my opinion.

Great place to come and visit. The views are amazing. We came on the 3rd January, it was very windy to say the least, this added to the whole experience. What didn't add to the the experience was the biblical amount of rain that came down just as we were leaving🤣🤣.
There is a good bit of educational areas showing the history of Portugal. A local church which was closed plus a gift centre. Entrance fee is €10. Per adult.

A lovely place to go for a walk with beautiful ocean views, the Sagres beaches and of the cliffs leading off to Cape St Vincent. The fort itself is an interesting bonus. If you like walking on a good level surface with views for up to an hour, don't miss this.

A Beautiful And 'Sacred' Place
Reading something of the history of the fort in the €10 book, I understand the headlands have been considered 'sacred' for a long time. I'm not sure about it's credentials in this respect, but it's certainly a peaceful, calm place with stunning views and some interesting and beautiful buildings. It…

Stunning views- cool place to visit on hot day
Fascinating views and significance of where you are actually standing. Temps high in rest of Algarve- the Sagres winds were very welcome. A lovely walk around the peninsula- lots of information boards. Needed a drink at the end…. Views stunning, entry fee was enough (10 euro per adult) but we think…

Tourist trap
Tourist trap. The exterior already looks like it is under construction, but the interior is too, with scaffolding everywhere that blocks the front view. Several rooms are closed and cannot be visited. The modern exhibition is the most interesting part, for 5 minutes. It is not worth what it costs

View is beautiful
Go tennis and be prepared to walk at least 4 thousand steps to turn around the whole area. Bring water. Beautiful views. 10 euros to enter. Residents in Portugal do not pay.

You can skip it.
It is the most southwestern point of Europe and the site of the navigation school established by Henry the Navigator. There is almost nothing left of the original buildings. The site has a small museum and a church, while the Wind Rose circle is completely covered with grass. There are some nice vie…
