I went here a couple of times and i love it every time! The food is well portioned and the staff is super professional and friendly. As someone who works for 20 years in the bussines i can see they know what there doing. Thanks again!

Service was nice. Some dishes were delicious! We had a problem with one of our dishes BUT the staff immediately attended to us and replaced the dish while apologizing. You can see the sea from our table. My favorite dishes were the octopus and xeram. The soup was not my favorite.

An absolutely fantastic experience. From the warm welcome on arrival to the outstanding service to the exceptionally prepared dishes. Our meal started with Gambas salteadas. This dish was one of the best prepared shrimp dishes we have had all over Algarve. A must for everyone. Again service was friendly unpretentious and informed. Atmosphere was lively but subtle and the dishes are the real winners. A must do in Algarve

✨ A Cozy Culinary Taberna – Taberna Amaro 🌊

Tucked away in the charming village of Santa Luzia, Taberna Amaro offers a heartwarming blend of delicious seafood and genuine hospitality.

After a lovely promenade stroll, we found ourselves drawn to this welcoming, family run spot. The host greeted us with a smile and fluent English, making us feel right at home.

We ordered:

🦪 Oysters – fresh, briny, and bright
🐟 Codfish "Punheta" – salted cod with onion, coriander, olive oil & vinegar
🍲 Seafood Soup – monkfish, prawns & clams in a rich tomato broth
🐙🦐 Sautéed Octopus & Shrimps – tender, savory, and unforgettable
🍤 Sautéed Prawns – perfectly seasoned
🥕 Sautéed Vegetables – vibrant and full of flavor

The standout dish was the sautéed octopus and shrimps! So good we had to send compliments to the chef. The waiter smiled and said, “the chef today is my mom.” And just like that, everything made sense. Nothing beats a meal made with a mother’s love.

Taberna Amaro is proof that food cooked from the heart can turn a good evening into a cherished memory.

We spent 5 days in Algarve, and visited many restaurants, from highly rated chef restaurants to occasional bars. This one is by far the best sea food experience we had. Everything was super fresh and tasty. Staff was very friendly and they even had great Gluten free options. The place was full of locals, which is also a good sign of excellence. Highly recommended.

Food was brilliant, we shared the tapas and it was different flavours. It’s a great place to try all types of seafood. We had octopus as you have to since it’s a renowned village for octopus. Lots of other stuff on the menu. Atmosphere is nice and relaxed.

We love this restaurant. The food is reasonably priced and tasty. The staff are very kind and offer great service. My husband is especially fond of the seafood moqueca. I love the shrimp and my favorite is vegetable cakes, which are more filling than you would expect. Bruno has done a great job in …

We went here to pestify and ate the pulp salad, muxama, dumpet, garlic shrimp, pulp croquettes, apricots and the fish soup. It was all divine! The staff was super friendly, attentive and careful both in presenting the dishes and serving. Back without a doubt because I want to try the dust and shri…

We went to lunch at this restaurant derived from the positive feedback and not disappointment. We ordered dough and camarao salteado with ginger (15,50 €), was very good accompanied with roasted bread, the sauce is divine, tuna steak (19,00 €) and dough panado with bean rice, a delight, with the do…

Came for lunch and ordered 3 different tapas and two mains. Service was slow - we asked for bread as soon as we got the tapas so we could soak it in the squid sauce, but we only got it once we were done with the tapas (and had we waited they would have gone cold). Food was good but quite heavy, ove…
