Whale Restaurant Vila Vita

A great evening for 10 of us, excellent service in a superb setting, delicious cuisine!

Really nice view on the sea, in front of the swimming pool. Cozy restaurant. Staff is perfect, very caring, lovely with kids.
We eat several times for lunch. You can have a solid one or light one. Sea foods, fish, carpacio, sushi, burger you will find something even if you not hungry. Plates are well presented, very pure. Tasty an delicious.
The wine menu could larger but I guess they have an other one for the dinner.

Great view, nice setting, good service, tasty food, resort prices. We dined here for our one night stay at Vila Vita because many other on site options had no reservations available. It was an enjoyable evening, lovely ocean view. The food was quite good with some interesting Portugese options. We had the mussell starter which had a wonderful, rich broth and not enough toast for dipping. For entree and I had a chicken piri piri variation which was one of the tastiest plates of the entire 12 day vacation. Generous portions. Its definitely the family friendly restaurant, not quite cozy couples date, but all in all enjoyable and good food for expected prices.

This evening had could end in a desaster but…
From the beginning things went wrong. We were placed on a table and then we were completely forgotten. After a while I asked for something to drink. A glass of of Portugiese white wine. The waiter came with a wine from New Zealand. No problem he disappeared and came not back for a long time. We also have not received the menue for a while and at least we could nothing order, because still no one took notice from us. At the end, everything came together, the food the wines…andthat in a 5 star resort with appropriate prices.why also a 5 star rezension?
Because there was a manager who apologized in a extremely sympathetic and honest way. He was totally in stress but never lost the respect and the humor. He turned this evening from a desaster to a very nice dinner. Of course, it was also helpful that he spent the wine, but at he end he took all the mistakes that happened and was able to make them to a positive experience. Bravo!

Conclusion: Good food, nice wines and outstanding complaints management.

This was one of our favorite restaurants at VVP. The service was memorable and the food (and drinks) were great.

Even if you don’t like seafood, the pizzas are some of the best you’ll find. Chewy crust, fresh toppings.

The seafood though was fresh, simple and flavorful.
