The fish is sublime and the octopus salad is the best we had in our trip in Portugal. Outside of the tourist area, this restaurant is frequented by locals as well as tourists. Do book in advance for dinner. But the vibe during lunch is actually better.

The food is amazing, fresh, and real Portuguese. The waitress was kind and very welcoming.
I arrived at the opening time, so I didn’t wait to get in, but I saw the queue growing after a couple of minutes. Consider arriving early or making a booking, and bringing cash! (no card payments)

Hustling traditional restaurant! The food here is 100% authentic and it would easily be in my top 10 meals of all time.
Had a small wait for a table. The staff were busy, however still reasonably attentive but SUPER friendly!
We had:
Octopus salad and tomato salad - octopus was super tender.
Sword fish and fried prawns - absolutely incredible. The meal was nothing short of perfect, huge portion size.
Dessert was Bolo de Lagos, recommend by the manager. Was really nice. Not too sweet, you could really taste the real ingredients they used.
I almost forgot to mention that it is extremely well priced.

This place was recommended to us by our Airbnb host. It is located in a quieter area of the old town of Lagos. Great patio space. We had the seabass and portuguese steak. The food was good, nothing too special. Service was friendly and quick. Reasonably priced. Would go again!

Amazing golden bream recommended by our wonderful server. The squid was reportedly great too. Portion was HUGE, my fish was thick and barely fit the plate! Can easily share if you have a smaller appetite.
The fish was extremely fresh and perfectly grilled with olive oil, fresh garlic, and parsley. Squeeze of lemon tied everything together. Vegetables looked unassuming but was cooked in a savoury broth and had lots of flavour too.
Highly recommend for the value, although service can be slow (they are very busy—you must reserve beforehand). My fish was £13, squid £16.50.

A restaurant that is all about simplicity, mostly frequented by locals, with basic dishes.
We tried the grilled sea bream with garlic and coarse salt/steamed vegetables and the spicy grilled shrimp/fries: first-rate fresh products, delicious.
With two glasses of white wine ... for less than 40 euro…
